A stall on Bonita Road in the Sweetwater valley and a lockout inside an Eastlake gate are two different pickups. Bonita is unincorporated South Bay, older streets, golf, and horse properties. Eastlake is a master-planned neighborhood in Chula Vista, east of SR-125. Share which one you are in. A Chula Vista city-core call is a third map.
Bonita is the valley: I-805, SR-54, Sweetwater, and Bonita Road
Bonita sits between Chula Vista and National City, in the Lower Sweetwater Valley. The freeway facts are the I-805 and SR-54 interchange, plus SR-125 access toward the east. Bonita Road and Sweetwater Road are the surface spines. Name the interchange or the road, not “South Bay.”
A shoulder stop on I-805 between Bonita Road and the 54 is a freeway recovery. Freeway Service Patrol covers some San Diego freeways during published hours. SANDAG’s figure for FSP dispatch is about nine minutes on patrolled segments. Attribute that to SANDAG. It is not an arrival promise for an independent operator.
Golf-course lots (Bonita Golf Course, Chula Vista Municipal) and Sweetwater Regional Park lots run posted rules. A dead battery there may be a jump. A car left past a posted limit can already be a private-property tow. If the car is gone, start with find your towed car in San Diego.
Equestrian and large-parcel driveways off Sweetwater need gate codes, turnout room, and whether the car will roll. A long flatbed is not always the truck that fits a tight ranch entrance. Say so on the first call.
The city service page for this community is towing in Bonita.
Eastlake is gated Chula Vista, not the Bonita valley
Eastlake sits in eastern Chula Vista: Eastlake Parkway, Otay Lakes Road, and SR-125. The houses are newer, the streets are planned, and a lot of pickups are behind a gate. Dispatch cannot invent the gate process. You confirm the code, a visitor list, or a meeting point outside the gate, then we match an independent operator who can work with those instructions.
A stall on Eastlake Parkway is a surface arterial. A stall on SR-125 is a toll-road freeway job. Do not describe an Otay Lakes gated street as Bonita Road. The operator will hunt the valley first.
West-side Chula Vista (Third Avenue, F Street, the I-5 floor) is covered in towing in Chula Vista. That is not this page.
What changes between the two
Bonita calls often involve older residential streets, golf and park lots, and property gates on large parcels. Eastlake calls often involve HOA gates, newer garages, and SR-125 or Otay Lakes routing. Both can need a wheel-lift when a long bed cannot make the turn. Both still need the same first facts: whether the car rolls, whether you have keys, and the exact gate or cross street.
Do not ask a neighbor to pull a car onto I-805 with a strap. The interchange and the grade make that a second accident.
What to confirm before anyone is sent
Have these ready:
- Bonita or Eastlake, then the road: Bonita Road, Sweetwater, I-805/SR-54, Eastlake Parkway, Otay Lakes, or SR-125
- Gate, HOA, or park-lot instructions
- Whether the car rolls, steers, and has keys
- Year, make, model, and destination in South Bay or elsewhere in the county
The operator who takes the job sets the price and the arrival window for that pickup. This brand does not publish a Bonita or Eastlake ETA. The line takes calls 24 hours at (858) 923-5787.
